Origin of Breed

The formation of Senepol cattle began in 1800 with the importation of race N ’Lady (aBos Taurus-millennial West Africa - Senegal) to the Caribbean island of St Croix.
ON ’Lady has developed over centuries in the warm, damp and infested withparasites, developing high genetic resistance to these evils.

In 1918, an English breeder, Bromley Nelthroop introduced into your herd N ’LadyRed Poll bulls in order to improve their livestock. This fusion gene formed a successful race Senepol.
